A pricing band can be used to give a discount off list price or margin on cost against a group of items.   A recent forum on setting up Price bands can be found below.

Pricing Band Setup

  • To set up pricing bands log into Prima Administration > General Admin > Pricing Bands 
  • Click New Pricing Band
  • Select the Band Type - either Discount off List Price* or Markup/Margin on Cost
  • In Band Name, enter the pricing band name
  • Select Save & Close

The price bands now need to be applied against the customer record and against the item code.


Assigning a band to a customer

  • Go to Company>Company Grid Manager
  • In the Search tab use the filters to refine which customers you wish to add the band to and click Search
  • Remove any customers you do not wish to assign the band to in the Results tab
  • In the Change tab, select Update Discount Band to and select the band from the drop down
  • Click Apply


Assigning a band to relevant items

  1. To manually set them against the items go to Publications>Publication Grid Manager
  2. Select the Catalog from the Catalog Name drop down. Use other filters if a more selective search is required, eg If you are applying different bands to particular attribute groups or catalogs.
  3. Click Search
  4. Click onto the Change tab
  5. Select Update Pricing Band to
  6. (or Select from the drop down the Quantity Break.)
  7. Click Apply


*Applying Quantity Breaks

If you use the qty fields in the admin pricing band setup, the discount will depending the quantity sold e.g. if 10 are sold the customers receives 2% discount, if 20 are sold the customer receives 5% discount and so on.

In the above set up...

  • Select the Number of Ranges from the drop down
  • Fill in the From and To quantities as well as the % Discounts
