Go to Stock > Products and search for the code you wish to discontinue.

Double click into the correct line in the results and in the stock product record click the button Discontinue.


PLEASE NOTE any product discontinued that is held in a customer contract will show as DIS in the contract. This item cannot be added to a sales order but will stay in the contract so that it can be reviewed by the dealer, to either replace or delete. 



If I have Discontinued a Product , can I reinstate it?

Yes you can.


First, Search for the Discontinued code in the Products lookup.

To find a Discontinued code, enter the code in the Search field and select Discontinued in the Product Status drop down list, then click search.

Double click on the code to enter the Product Record.

To reinstate the code, select the correct Status on the right hand side

To Reinstate multiple discontinued products:

  • Search all discontinued products and filter these so that only the product codes you wish to make live again show.
  • It is vital that you remove all product codes that you do not wish to reinstate, if you do not remove these product codes all items in the grid will be reinstated.
  • To remove items from the grid highlight and right click the mouse and select Remove Selected.
  • Once you have filtered the grid so that only the products you wish to reinstate are showing select Grid Manager and update the product status to Limited.  
  • Select Update Records.


I cant discontinue a product, stock balance outstanding.


It is likely that there is Unavailable Stock in Prima.

To check in the Product Record:

  • Click on the Balances button, you can see the Stock levels and see if there is Unavailable Stock in the system.
  • Clicking on the Batch Records tab you can see more detail regarding the location of the Unavailable Stock.
  • It is likely that there is a Customer or Supplier Return which has not been Completed.
  • Once the Returns have been Completed you can Discontinue the Product.


How to discontinue products without a vendor.


  • Go to Stock -> ‘Main’ Product Grid Manager 
  • Filter by Vendor – ‘NO’ and click Search. This will return all products with no vendor attributed to them. You can review the list of selected products in the ‘Result’ tab.


  • Click into the Result Tab, highlight and Remove Selected Records you do not wish to discontinue. 
  • In the ‘Change’ tab, tick ‘Update Product Status to’ and select ‘Discontinue Product.’ Now click the ‘Apply’ button. This will discontinue all selected products.
