Overview
There are two types of Re-order Types, one that triggers when the minimum is reached and the second to satisfy the maximum level.
Only one type should be set i.e. Type 1 or Type 2 in each stock product.
Type 1: Re-order to minimum level or fixed amount
Once the level drops to the minimum quantity the fixed re-order quantity will be ordered.
Type 2: Re-order to satisfy maximum level
Once the quantity drops to or below the re-order level, a quantity to meet the maximum level will be ordered.
These levels are used when the Inventory Re-Ordering button is pressed within the Requirements screen.
Type 1: Re-order to minimum level or fixed amount
Set the Minimum Level and set the Fixed Re-order Quantity
The supplier can also be set, which can override the preferred supplier set in the stock code.
e.g. if the Minimum is set to 10 and the Fixed re-order is 30, when the stock level drops to 10 then a quantity of 30 is ordered when the Inventory Re-Ordering button is pressed within the Requirements screen.
Type 2: Re-order to satisfy maximum level
Set the Maximum level to the quantity you want as your maximum stock level
Set the Re-Order level to a quantity that will trigger the reorder
e.g. a maximum stock level of 50 is set, the re-order level is set to 10. When the stock level hits 10 or below then the quantity between the re-order and the maximum is ordered when the Inventory Re-Ordering button is pressed within the Requirements screen.
The system is set up to recognize sales and purchase orders going through, i.e. incoming and outgoing stock levels. Current orders for stock and future stock are taken into account.
For example: If there is a Stock request for 50 already on the system and the auto routine finds it needs 200, a stock request of 150 will be created.
Type 3: Re-order based on History (Weeks)
Set the Def Reorder Amounts weeks (eg 13) and Def Reorder History weeks (eg 6); within the vendor company profile.
Prima will take an average of the amount you have sold over the last 13 weeks and then work out the required amount needed to cover your orders for the next 6 weeks.
For example, you had a total of 52 of this item ordered over 13 weeks, on average this works out at 4 per week. Prima has now calculated in order to sustain stock for the next 6 weeks, your order Qty will be 24.
