Alternatives -An optional alternative gives the user the option to swap the product to any of its alternatives within the sales order.
System Alternatives -Within the company record there is a tick option “Allow Automatic Switching to System Alternatives” on the “Product and Pricing” tab. If this is ticked then the item will swap automatically to the alternative however this must be set in the company record to allow this.
Conditional Alternatives - If a product is specified as a conditional alternative then the system will allow the switching of a product provided that the customer’s account has the product in its list of allowed alternatives. This list is maintained in the “Product and Pricing” tab within the Company record.
How to set up Product Alternatives
1. Enter into the stock product record for the item you wish to switch to i.e. if you wish for CODE X to switch to CODE Y, you need to go to CODE Y to setup the alternative.
2. Click on the Supercession/Alternatives/Groups tab within the product record.
3. In the Enter NEW Alternative Product section, load the required product (the one you wish to switch from) and select the appropriate Alternative Type and then click Save.
4. For system alternatives, go the company record and click into the Product and Pricing tab and check Allow Automatic Switching to System Alternatives
How to set up Grouped Products
- Go to Stock > Products
- Search for the main code which you want to link the up-sell codes to.
- Double click to open the Product record
- Click on the Supercession/Alternatives/Groups tab on the top right
- In the bottom section under Enter NEW Grouped Product
- Search for your your item to link to the main code, choose the unit and Save
- Repeat process if more grouped products are required.
In a Prima Sales Order
When you enter the main code on to a Sales Order, before you save the line you will see an Addtl. Items button on the right hand side, which will show any Grouped Products.
In the Webstore
When you customers search for the main code on your Webstore, when they open the code in their their browser they will see the Grouped Products below the main product details in a section called People Who Bought This Also Bought...
