If you have a stock product which is set up with the status of Part/ Component, you will not be able to add this to a sales order, unless you have set this up in the Administration.
To set this up go to:
- Administration > System Keys > Batch \ Stock Keys
- Enable Products Marked as Components to be Sold to be Y
This will allow items with a status of Part/ Component to be sold
